Project Understanding has a number of programs designed to help people get back on their feet, providing a place to live and become self reliant. Below are programs that are available to people who need help.
The goal of this program is to assist those who desire to end their homelessness. SHORE at the WAV is Case Management of previously homeless families and individuals in permanent, supportive housing apartments subsidized by Section 8 funds.
Field case management services to homeless individuals who desire to change their life situation for the better.
Provides homeless pregnant women with safe housing and support services that promote self-sufficiency.
If you are pregnant and do not have a safe place to stay, please call Tender Life Maternity Home at (805) 653-7474.
If you are homeless and are looking for help to find housing, please come to First Step Center from 9:00am-Noon Monday-Friday. The address is 819 E Thompson Blvd, Ventura, CA 93001, at the corner of Thompson Boulevard and Ash Street. (The office does not have a public restroom.)
